"On Saturday, Round 1 of the VicWavesailng Series kicked off at Point Impossible. It was an arctic blast with a super cold west/south westerly and a nice 3 to 4 foot swell. They challenging conditions with a strong side sweep and the odd rogue monster set rolling through. Given the bitterly cold conditions for this time of year and rain deluge the night before, we got a good turn out with 8 people competing and around 20 people free sailing in total.
The day got underway with an hour long freesailing session followed by a 30 minute expression session. The four top sailors from the expression session then proceeded to battle it out in a 15 minute final which was judged on the best 3 waves and 1 jump. Evan, James, Alastair, Hudson and Hoc (who retired with a migraine) fought it out in a very impressive final which saw James winning with two massive pushloops (and he only needed to do one!) and solid long waverides down to the river mouth " - thanks duncan for the content ![]()
